Become a Member
In a time shaped by rapid change, new forms of work and global challenges, strong relationships and shared values matter more than ever. Christian diaconal networks offer spaces of trust, mutual learning and collaboration — across cultures, continents and contexts.
By becoming a member of DIAKONIA REGION AFRICA–EUROPE (DRAE), your organisation becomes part of a living community committed to faith in action, dignity, justice and service to others.
Why membership matters today
In a rapidly changing world, organisations are called to work in new ways across borders, cultures and disciplines while remaining rooted in their values. Christian diaconal networks provide spaces where faith inspires action, relationships are nurtured and communities are strengthened.
DRAE offers such a space as a trusted fellowship in which organisations accompany one another, share responsibility and learn together. Within this community, diaconal work is not carried out in isolation but grows through mutual support, reflection and collaboration.
Together we respond to social, economic and climate-related challenges with compassion, hope and practical service, bearing witness to the Gospel through concrete action.

What membership offers
Membership in DRAE connects organisations to a global community rooted in Christian faith and diaconal service. Within this fellowship, members strengthen one another through shared experience, dialogue and mutual support, fostering relationships that transcend cultural and geographical boundaries.
Through conferences, encounters and collaborative initiatives, members gain opportunities to reflect together, learn from diverse contexts, make their work more visible and support one another. Participation in this community enables organisations to grow in their diaconal calling and strengthen their service in a spirit of shared faith and solidarity.
Who can become a member
Membership is open to diaconal organisations, associations and communities in Africa and Europe that are grounded in the Christian faith and committed to serving others. Organisations that share the vision of strengthening diaconal engagement through cooperation, mutual learning and solidarity are warmly invited to become part of this regional community.
How to join
Organisations interested in membership are invited to contact DRAE to explore how they can contribute to and benefit from the association. Applications must be submitted in writing and will be reviewed by the board.
