At the beginning of each month, the DIAKONIA World Federation publishes a Prayer Letter written by members from different parts of the world. Offered in English and German, it provides personal insights into the global diaconal community through theological reflections, spiritual inspiration and glimpses of diaconal work in diverse contexts.
The Prayer Letter invites us to pause, broaden our horizons and recognise ourselves as part of a worldwide community of faith and service.

Prayer Letter for September 2026.
The Prayer Letter for September is written by Deacon Carla Vilma Jandrey. Carla works in the Community Diaconia Coordination Department at the General Secretariat of the Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession in Brazil; she lives in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Carla was ordained to the diaconal ministry on 28 August 2005. She completed a Master’s degree in Practical Theology at Faculdades EST in July 2009. Her responsibilities within the IECLB’s Community Diaconia Coordination include organising training and study programmes for community leaders on diaconia and the inclusion of people with disabilities, and supporting the diaconal fellowships – COD and Irmandade – which are members of DOTAC and Diakonia World.

Gebetsbrief für September 2026.
Der Gebetsbrief für September wurde verfasst von Diakonin Carla Vilma Jandrey. Carla ist in der Koordinationsstelle für Gemeindediakonie im Generalsekretariat der Evangelischen Kirche lutherischen Bekenntnisses in Brasilien tätig und wohnt in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasilien. Carla wurde am 25. August 2005 zum Diakonat ordiniert. Im Juli 2009 schloss sie ihren Master in Praktischer Theologie an der Faculdades EST ab. Zu ihren Aufgaben in der Koordinationsstelle für Gemeindediakonie der IECLB gehören: die Organisation von Fortbildungen und Studien für Führungskräfte in den Gemeinden zu den Themen Diakonie und Inklusion von Menschen mit Behinderungen sowie die Begleitung der diakonischen Gemeinschaften – COD und Irmandade –, die Mitglieder von DOTAC und dem DIAKONIA Weltbund sind.
